Dining, Exploring and Travelling Solo in Ontario

How to Plan a Solo Ontario Food and Travel Adventure - Planning a solo Ontario adventure doesn't have to mean spending weeks scrolling Instagram, saving travel posts and wondering where to go next. From discovering local restaurants and brunch spots to exploring small towns, hidden gems and new experiences, solo travel in Ontario, Canada is an opportunity to step outside your comfort zone and experience the province on your own terms. For anyone battling analysis paralysis, the secret is surprisingly simple: follow what interests you, choose an Ontario adventure, put it on the calendar and actually go.

From Analysis Paralysis to Adventure: Taking Charge of Your Ontario Adventures

As someone who suffers from a serious bout of analysis paralysis, I have come to realize over the years how important it is for my personal growth to make a decision on a solo Ontario outing and actually follow through.

Of course, my Instagram feed offers me a plethora of tourism hotspots and food recommendations, which I immediately save to my Instagram profile.

But when it comes to actually acting and taking the initiative on the activities?

My brain gets overwhelmed... until now.

Welcome to the new and improved Heather. The one who actually takes charge of her life (and her calendar) and books fun adventures, all on her own.

And what better motivator than connecting with a community of adventure seekers who love local, eat local and above all experience local.

So how do I decide what to do and what's right for me?

Step 1: Follow Your Gut: Let Food Lead Your Ontario Adventure

Not in the survival instinct way, although there is merit to that, but in the stomach rumbling satiating way. I love food more than I love most things, and if I could make a living as a food reviewer, I would. I'm always looking for a new restaurant to try, and did someone say Brunch?

Follow what you value, and the rest will work itself out.

Step Number Two: Take Action on the Saved Instagram Post.

Hamilton's food scene is pretty diverse and I'm swarmed with instagram videos of influencers eating to their hearts' desire across the Hammer. Why is it so satisfying to watch Ontario influencers eat food? Whether it's the ASMR or my desire to satisfy my daily dopamine hit, I crave food outings more than I crave sleep.

One saved post is all it takes. Put it in your calendar and go.

Step Number Three: Invite Others for an Ontario Outing, but Don't Sweat It

I have a bit of rejection sensitivity when it comes to asking people to come out with me. Because if they decline, I tend to abandon the outing altogether. The bid for connection outweighs my own desire for the experience. But it's important for my growth to get outside my comfort zone and flex that muscle.

Create the opportunity for connection, but if it's a no on the other side?

Go anyway and dine with yourself!

Step Number Four: Write About How to Plan a Solo Ontario Food and Travel Adventure

What better way to flex my storytelling capabilities than to share it all with you?

And maybe that's what adventure seekers is really about. Not waiting for the invite, but creating one for myself instead.

Who's ready?
