I'm guiding two sisters in the first week of April in areas of both WWI and WWII. Their grandfather fought with Calgary's 50th Battalion at Passchendaele and into the last 100 days of the Great War in 1918, finishing at Mons on the first Armistice Day 11/11/1918. But we begin in Normandy where their uncle landed on Juno Beach on 25 July, 1944, the second wave after D-Day. On August 8th the Allies launched Operation Totalize. Their uncle who was in an anti-tank battalion was killed in action on the 8th of August, '44. We will visit his grave in Bretteville-sur-Laize, France. Should be an informative and powerful trip for these two sisters.
