Venture off the main highways on to one of the thousands of grid roads in Saskatchewan and you will be sure to find a barn or homestead, abandoned long ago. They are a wonderful piece of prairie past and l often say to myself "If only these walls could talk, the stories they could tell." These old buildings are one of my favorite things to photograph and l thank the farmers of Saskatchewan for letting them stand for all to enjoy and ponder for a moment about the days gone by.

I walked quite a ways across a field to get close enough for a picture of this old homestead. It has a spectacular view of the western sunsets
