Family Rides, Elbow River Camp and One Last Stampede Adventure

Our third and final visit to the 2026 Calgary Stampede took us to a completely different part of the grounds. After spending our previous visits enjoying concerts, agriculture exhibits and evening entertainment, Friday became our family day. With a midway ride wristband in hand, my little adventure seeker and I explored the family midway, where many rides welcomed adults alongside children and the shorter wait times meant we could enjoy far more attractions together.

Located on the way to the Elbow River Camp, the family midway proved to be a fantastic area for younger visitors. We rode the Ferris wheel several times, explored family-friendly attractions, visited the Kids Zone for Gabby's Dollhouse Dance Party, and took our time simply enjoying the atmosphere.

We also returned to the Elbow River Camp, spending more time learning about the Treaty 7 Nations, Indigenous history and culture, browsing handcrafted artwork and supporting Indigenous entrepreneurs. It's one of the Calgary Stampede experiences I would encourage every visitor to explore.

No Stampede visit is complete without great food. I finally stopped for a delicious Greek donair, while our traditional fresh lemonade once again became the perfect way to cool off during a warm summer afternoon. We also wandered through the Market Hall, discovering local vendors, handmade products and interactive family activities.

If you're planning a family trip to the Calgary Stampede, don't overlook the value of free admission for children 6 and under or the $50 SuperPass, available before the Stampede begins, which includes unlimited admission throughout the event. For families planning multiple visits, it can quickly pay for itself.

Three visits, three completely different experiences. From concerts and fireworks to agriculture, Indigenous culture, family rides and local food, our 2026 Calgary Stampede adventures reminded us why this world-famous celebration is about so much more than the midway. There truly is something here for every age and every style of adventurer.
