The 2026 Canada Adventure Seeker Annual Retreat brought Canada Adventure Seeker Greg Girard and fellow Canada Adventure Seekers together in Sundre, Alberta, for a weekend filled with Canadian hospitality, friendship, adventure and plenty of laughs.
Arriving Friday, August 7, 2026, the Seekers gathered at Bearberry Cottage Resort, a beautiful Alberta retreat setting that quickly became home base for the weekend. Hugs were shared, stories started flowing and the BBQ was soon firing up. It was the kind of gathering that reminds you why exploring Canada is always better when you have great people beside you.
Before the BBQ, I visited the Town of Sundre and met with Economic Development Officer Jon Allen at Town Hall. Jon welcomed the Canada Adventure Seekers with genuine small town hospitality and provided each Seeker with a Sundre grab bag filled with local goodies.
Greg returned the welcome with some EH Canada Travel spirit of his own, presenting Jon with EH Canada Travel merchandise including an EH Canada Travel mug, T shirt and hat.
A local welcome. A Canadian exchange. And a whole lot of smiles.

On my arrival and meeting with all the Seekers, I had an opportunity to tour the insides of some of the cottages. Here I am with some Seekers checking out one of the bigger cottages and man this was a delux one with 3 bedrooms and a loft.

After a long 9 hour drive from Merritt BC to Sundre Alberta I arrived at the Bearberry Cottage Resort. It was a beautiful drive through the backcountry of Alberta to the resort. I have never been so happy to see a sign.
