Bergen International Sculpture Park Near Sundre, Alberta: A Hidden Gem Worth Exploring

Bergen Rocks Sculpture Park: Giant Art in the Alberta Foothills

Looking for something a little different to add to your Alberta adventure list? Bergen International Sculpture Park near Sundre, Alberta is worth a stop!

Just about 10 minutes from Sundre, this unique outdoor sculpture park combines massive works of art with the beautiful Alberta landscape. During our visit, we wandered through the property and discovered an impressive collection of monumental stone sculptures, each with its own story and character.

Discover Monumental Stone Sculptures Near Sundre

The sculptures were created by 23 sculptors from around the world during four international sculpture symposia held at the property. As a result, art from different cultures and artistic styles can be found throughout the grounds, making this much more than a quick roadside stop.

Interestingly, not all 23 sculptures are still at the Bergen property. Over the years, several have been moved to public displays in nearby communities, including Olds and Sylvan Lake. So, if you visit and don’t count 23, that’s why!

In fact, the Olds Rocks collection features 10 Bergen Rocks sculptures, and we’ve got a separate video showing you that collection too.

Meanwhile, the Bergen property offers a peaceful way to experience these incredible works in their natural setting. It’s an easy addition to a Sundre-area road trip and a great example of the unexpected attractions you can discover when you get off the main tourist trail.

So, if you’re exploring Sundre, Alberta, looking for unique things to do, or planning an Alberta road trip, put Bergen International Sculpture Park on your list.
