A confession had to be made by me in this video: until this weekend, true tent camping (or any camping, for that matter) had NEVER been done by me! To fix this gap in my travel experience, a last-minute overnight 24-hour trip was planned on Thursday by my friend (who has been camping before) and me for a Saturday getaway to Mara Cottage Campground in the scenic North Okanagan region of British Columbia.

? HELPFUL CAMPING & TRAVEL TIPS FOR BC:

• Fire Bans: Current fire restrictions in the Okanagan should always be checked by you before lighting open flames.


• Power: Portable chargers & power banks should be brought by you for unserviced tenting sites.


• Late Returns: Prior communication with campground owners is recommended if returning late from evening activities like the drive-in.
