We thought we were just walking into a normal community park in the middle of the Alexis Park area of Vernon, BC. But when we stumbled upon old tombstones lining the park's border, we knew we had to film this!

As it turns out, Pioneer Park was actually Vernon's very first cemetery. Opened in 1885, the city quickly realized they didn't have enough space—the grounds were completely filled by 1901, and the soil was ultimately deemed unsuited for burials. By 1907, the city opened Pleasant Valley Cemetery and began moving the graves.

But here is where it gets eerie...

The city’s official records state that "most" of the bodies were exhumed and relocated. However, local legends tell a different story. Many believe some graves were left behind—including that of 7-year-old Little Lonnie Mohr, who tragically passed away in 1894 following a tooth extraction. To this day, locals report ghost sightings and paranormal activity in the park, with some claiming to see her spirit.

If you walk along the back rock work today, you can still see some of the original stone structures from over a century ago.
