When you hear about the Northwest Territories you think of many things like the Canadian Shield,\u00a0 Waterfalls , Slave Lake, Wildlife and the community of Yellowknife.\u00a0 We want to research them all.<\/p>\n
Our stay in Yellowknife was well worth the trip. Bro got some time to power down on the computer and I went out and researched the parks, trails and attractions in the area.\u00a0 But now we must move on. Destination Hay River and the Waterfall Highway.<\/p>\n
Leaving Yellowknife,\u00a0 we had one choice – to head back the same way we came on Hwy #3.\u00a0\u00a0 Highway #3 then connects to the very much anticipated Waterfall Hwy (Hwy #1) leading us to Hay River, Slave Lake and a series of waterfalls. It is one of the best routes we have researched so far with a selection of waterfalls.\u00a0 The waterfalls on the highway in NWT is right up there with the series of waterfalls in Tumbler Ridge, BC.<\/p>\n
The first waterfall we visited on the Waterfall Highway that caught our attention was the Lade Evelyn Falls Trail.\u00a0 It is also one of the easiest falls to access.\u00a0 To access the falls requires walking down a short series of boardwalk steps to a lookout.\u00a0 The lookout gives you a long angle view of the falls.\u00a0 It is loud and you can still feel the mist.\u00a0 But it is powerful and great eye candy.<\/p>\n
