Here at EH Tourism Head Quarters we take allot of pride in researching Canada so we know it inside and out.\u00a0 We self research. We travel to and visit each community, park and adventure destination. We hike, bike, backpack and explore the trails, rivers, mountains and lakes.\u00a0 We deem it important to be informed geographically, environmentally and commercially when it comes to the tourism industry in Canada.<\/p>\n

So sometimes, we give our heads a shake, even chuckle a bit, when we receive TOP 10 lists from other travel sources through our news feeds. Often it is the same old, same old information with a different twist. It seems, on many occasions, it is just a rearranged list of the same information. A list you could put together by reading magazine articles and using the internet.\u00a0 Why the rant… well we recently received such a list called \u00a0“TOP 10 Beaches” and the usual suspects in British Columbia were listed. But lets not go there.<\/p>\n

North Beach on Queen Charlotte Islands<\/p><\/div>\n

Why not create a TOP 10 list – or better yet a TOP 8 List – of beach destinations that fly under the radar.\u00a0 Not everyone wants to spend a vacation on a TOP 10\u00a0busy or developed beach.\u00a0 Some of us want to spend vacation time on a sandy beach which is away from the crowds, maybe a bit remote and under the radar for some reason or another.<\/p>\n

We have put together a list of the TOP 8 Beaches that “Fly Under the Radar” in British Columbia, Canada.\u00a0 Some are easy access drive to destinations while others require an effort to reach. All are amazing!<\/p>\n

Send us some other ideas for TOP 8 Lists and we will see what we can do. Why TOP 8 because we like to be different. LOL.<\/p>\n

“FLY UNDER the RADAR” TOP 8 B.C. BEACHES. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Cape Scott Provincial Park near Port Hardy on Vancouver Island.<\/strong> [Main Blog Photo<\/a>] Vehicle ferry access to reach Vancouver Island from mainland BC – A 24 kilometre one-way backpacking trail (50 kilometre return hike) leads explorers through lush old-growth forests, thick wetland bogs and plenty of mud swamps to a string of beautiful white sand beaches on the point of Northern Vancouver Island. Savary Island Beach on the Sunshine Coast. <\/strong>Pedestrian ferry access only from the Village of Lund to the island – Miles of secluded and peaceful sandy beaches from Green Point (Mace Point) to Indian Point stretching across this 5 mile long island. The island is accessed by a foot passenger water taxi ferry service in Lund with a limited schedule and capacity. [ more info<\/a> ]<\/p>\n

Keeha Bay Beach near Bamfield<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

North Beach on Queen Charlotte Islands. <\/strong>Vehicle ferry access to reach Queen Charlotte Islands – Wide open, private and remote sandy and pebbled beaches spilling over with driftwood logs along the northern coastline of Graham Island. North Beach makes up a big portion of the 100s of kms of beaches available to explore in the Naikoon Provincial Park. [ more info<\/a> ]<\/p>\n

Saratoga Beach on Vancouver Island. <\/strong>Vehicle ferry access to reach Vancouver Island from mainland BC – Saratoga Beach is a resort community on the east coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia Canada with two beautiful white sandy beaches. It is located near the rural communities of Merville and Black Creek, BC. [ more info<\/a> ]<\/p>\n

Raft Cove near Port Hardy on Vancouver Island.<\/strong> Vehicle ferry access to reach Vancouver Island from mainland BC – Raft Cove is a hidden gem of a remote sandy beach located on the northern tip of Vancouver Island. The cove is easily accessed from a short trail which takes no longer than 30 -45 minutes to complete. At the end of the trail is a 1.4 kilometre sandy beach – usually all to yourself. Rebecca Spit on Quadra Island of the Southern Gulf Islands. <\/strong>Vehicle Ferry Access to reach Quadra Island from Vancouver Island – Rebecca Spit was established in 1959 and is situated on the east side of Quadra Island covering 177 hectares. The park includes a 2 kilometre long sand spit, hiking trails, sandy beaches and a small protected cove. [ more info<\/a> ]<\/p>\n

Finishing Backpacking West Coast Trail at Pachena Beach<\/p><\/div>\n

Pachena Bay Beach in Bamfield on Vancouver Island. <\/strong>Vehicle ferry access to reach Vancouver Island from mainland BC – The Pachena Bay Beach is a remote white sandy beach with large driftwood logs scattered along the coastline. At low tide the ocean waves retreat revealing a much larger beach with freshly pressed wet sand. [ more info <\/a>]<\/p>\n

Keeha Bay Beach near Bamfield on Vancouver Island. <\/strong>Vehicle ferry access to reach Vancouver Island from mainland BC – Beautiful secluded beach located at the end of a difficult short hike through mud, around swamps and over deadfall trees in a rainforest environment. The 3.2 kilometre one way route leads to a large sandy beach, crashing waves, jagged cliffs, caves and mounds of driftwood logs. One of our personal favorites!
