Lovin’ the White Stuff in May

Just when I am getting pumped up about the summer coming around. And we are gearing up for the road show. Mother nature throws a storm at us and we get socked with 10 centimetres of snow. Who would of thunk it. Surprise Ontario it is the winter we never had jammed into 1 day.

It was west coast snow too, big flakes, taking forever to hit the ground, fluttering in the air and then finally settling one on top of the other.  It was light stuff.  From our experience you could just tell it was not going to stick around. And the next day most of the snow was gone. But for one day it provided a playground for one grown man.. moi.

We did not get much snow this winter up at the cabin so when this snowfall hit it was a bit of a nice surprise. A chance to play snowman again before the hiking boots come out. By 10 AM the snow was ankle high and growing. Bro and I had a java in hand and watching each flake fall one after the other.. it was better than TV. Well.. that is not saying much as I think pretty much everything is better than TV.

The day of snow was particularly interesting timing because it just happens to be the day that we, Bro and I , are switching cabins for the final week before we hit the road and do the research thing. Yes, no word of a lie.. we worked the snow and worked it good baby. Mother Nature tried to throw a curve ball but we responded with a home run.

So there we were in the snow (above picture), moving our gear and equipment from one cabin to another cabin about 200 metres down the road through a blizzard. Most would look at this situation with disdain. Like people of the couch potato crowd especially. Not us.. in our view we could play in the snow for one more day. Why not, take a chill pill, move on, nothing you can do about it and have some fun. Like in our case, the day was a hoot and the scenery was spell binding and even got a few snowballs in on the Bro.

The day moved quickly as I had just finished working through the night as I tend to do. First thing on my mind was the bed. Unfortunately my body did not have sleep on its mind as I was too wound up from the move in the snow storm to sleep.

Hmm.. what now?
