Heffley Lake Fishing Derby

The parks of Alberta and British Columbia were beautiful but we were coming back in the new year 2009 to research when we have more time.  Right now we want to set up a base camp near Kamloops so we could slow down from our trip, do some fishing and read a book,  before we set up our winter accommodation in an undisclosed destination for late night work on websites.

We decide to settle at Heffley Lake Wilderness Campground so we could do some fishing and hiking.

It just happen that a fishing derby was being held at the campground so the site soon was full after we showed up with a great group of people.   Bro entered the fishing derby.  He did not do so well.  But it seemed the others had motors and fish finding gear..  we had a canoe and fish “not finding” intuition. It was still fun full of laughs.

We had a great time meeting many new people.  Here is a picture of the boats at the lake during the derby and in the corner, is another picture of us with our unhappy fishing look at our base camp.
